When I look at the recase package source code (https://github.com/techniboogie-dart/recase/blob/master/pubspec.yaml), it seems that it doesn't have much dependencies that will conflict with other packages, so I would thinking directly list it as a dev/prod dependency should work.

To find out why it didn't work in your case, maybe post a pointer to your source code or repo since from a plain look at the dependency declaration, it looks fine, but the issue might be coming from other places.
